Lhasa noble women wore this type of "oversized" ear ornament with ends in the form of stylised lotus buds. Called "Akor",this splendid old earring (late 19th C.) comes from Lhassa in Tibet and had been transformed into a broche later...a very good piece with nice granulations and a well balanced design! It is a piece for collector of tibetan art which could also be worn every day by any woman in the world..This type is found as a decoration on the sides of the tombs of the 11th, 12th and 13th Dalai Lama in the Potala Palace in Lhasa...
